Andy Holyland is Offshore Renewable Energy Catapults Regional Innovation Managing for the East and South East of England, Managing Catapult’s Lowestoft office. With 10 years’ experience within the renewable energy sector, predominately Offshore Wind, Andy Holyland’ responsibilities include delivering regional strategy and business support programmes, focused on offshore wind, future energy scenarios, systems integration as well as wave and tidal technology.
Following a successful 15-year Military career in the Royal Engineers, Andy Holyland transitioned into the energy industry in the East of England in 2012. During this time, Andy Holyland has supported and delivered projects in O&G and On and Offshore Wind, more recently focussed on research, development, and innovation activities.
Andy Holyland has been an active supporter of EEEGR, the SiGs and the Skills for Energy programme since 2012 and has previously held supporting positions with RenewableUK, EU Skills and currently sits on the regions All Energy Industry Council. Andy Holyland has also led on training and development programmes with academia and independent training providers, successfully delivering multiple Military Transition programmes, first of which in 2013 and winning the EEEGRs Best Skills Initiative in 2015.
Andy Holyland is passionate about the collective regions position within the energy sector and fully believes there is the knowledge, experience, and capabilities throughout the region to capitalise on how the future energy scenarios unfold for our businesses and communities. Particularly through proactive cross-sector engagement and collaboration.
