Coastal Energy Internship Programme

The EEEGR team with Wendy Cox and Elizabeth Gold from the Ogden Trust and John Best, who will continue to facilitate the programme.

EEEGR is proud to lead the Coastal Energy Internship Programme, a long-standing initiative connecting local energy organisations with talented sixth-form students across East Anglia.

Now entering its 11th year, the programme offers students a high-quality 20-day paid summer placement where they work on a meaningful real-world project, developing practical skills, gain confidence, and explore careers across the energy, engineering and environment sectors, giving them a deeper understanding of what jobs are available in the energy industry.

As a host company, you will provide a supportive workplace, a named supervisor, and an authentic project with scope for research, analysis and a clear output — giving the student a genuine opportunity to contribute to your organisation. Your project and company branding will be shown on the EEEGR website for students to read.

In return, you receive a motivated young person keen to learn and add value, while helping shape the future workforce of our region.

A dedicated champion at the affiliated colleges will advertise the programme and advise on applications. Students wishing to apply should check back on our website in the new year for more information.

As we celebrate EEEGR’s 25th anniversary in 2026, we look forward to building even more impactful partnerships and supporting the next generation of energy professionals.
