Five Core Principles for Energy in the East of England
Introducing our Five Core Principles for Energy in the East of England.
EEEGR are starting on a new path to really push forward with renewable energy in the east of England, and at the same time be very conscious of each of the five principles, along with pushing equality, diversity, and inclusion.
This is a rallying cry for all stakeholders in the energy industry in the east of England to really collaborate together and bring growth and prosperity to the region, whilst protecting the environment. We must not forget the importance of each of the energy sectors, including natural gas & the grid as we transition to net zero carbon emissions.
“EEEGR is a strong advocate and effective representative voice of the energy sector for our region, influencing at the highest levels of government and promoting the social, economic and environmental benefit of all energy generating industries in Suffolk and Norfolk.”
– Tom McGarry, Head of Communications (Sizewell C), EDF Energy
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I)
OUR PLEDGE IS THAT:
“EEEGR and SfE will, across all activities, campaign hard for an energy sector focused on equality, diversity and inclusion and alongside this we will promote opportunities for more women to enter our industry sectors.”
– EEEGR Manifesto 2021
This pledge is our promise to put Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at the core of what we do, to address and contribute to targets set within our industry and ensure that current and future employees reap the benefits of an inclusive workforce.
WE WILL:
- Encourage and promote a positive culture within the energy industry where people feel valued, safe to be their true self and have a sense of belonging.
- Ensure all EEEGR and SfE policies and procedures support the development and retention of an inclusive and diverse workforce from top to bottom.
- Ensure that all events organised by EEEGR and SfE are inclusive to all.
- Ensure a diverse workforce is reflected in any EEEGR and SfE marketing and promotional imagery or messaging.
- Challenge the status quo, drive change and champion inclusive practices where we observe a need to do so.
- Commit to building a diverse team of talented individuals being as transparent as possible in our recruitment processes.
