Established in 2013, Island Green Power is a leading developer of utility-scale solar projects and battery storage systems. We deliver renewable energy solutions that create lasting value for the communities we serve, protecting the environment while fostering economic growth and energy independence.

Our mission is to be the leading innovator in sustainable, clean energy development by pioneering solutions that facilitate the energy transition and conserve the planet’s ecosystems.

We develop both solar and battery energy storage systems to provide a reliable source of electricity by storing and distributing surplus power when it is needed. This enables solar sites to contribute to national electricity supplies beyond daylight hours and supports the National Grid by balancing fluctuations in demand and reducing congestion.

We oversee the entire development process for our solar and battery projects, from securing grid connections and land to submitting planning applications and working with communities to improve every project. We collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure our projects deliver positive local impact, from job creation and biodiversity enhancement to community benefits shaped by local priorities.

Since launch, we have successfully delivered nearly 40 projects worldwide, generating more than 3 GW of energy capacity. This includes 21 solar and storage projects in the UK, ranging in size from below 5 MW to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects such as Cottam, currently the UK’s largest consented solar project. Cottam will generate 600 MW of clean, renewable and secure electricity and includes 600 MW of battery storage to store and release energy as needed.

We are a fast-growing team working from offices in London and Norwich, supported by an experienced in-house team and an established Board. The company is owned by three investment funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management on behalf of a range of investors, including UK pension funds.
