The Company was founded in Hackney Wick, East London in 1859 and moved the the current location in Harwich in 1964. Initially the business was focussed on developing and producing hydrocarbon solvents for use throughout industry and this business continues to this day. The site in Harwich is able to store and process volatile hydrocarbon mixtures to make solvents, heating oils and products for the agrichem markets. Throughput is typically around 400kT pa. A proportion of the business is dedicated to blending and packing specialist high performance racing fuels with international distribution. The Harwich site has 42 road loading points, a deepwater jetty, 175 storage tanks and a rail connection.
