Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager is accountable for ensuring the asset can optimise production by assuring the right materials and services at the right place and time for the right cost. This role requires the ability to effectively define and manage demand, establish and manage competitive, reliable and sustainable supply chains, and create the optimal warehousing solution. The incumbent will need to set up fit for purpose logistical processes for this standalone company, as well as leverage value from existing contracts through strong partnering with business unit and the key suppliers. The Supply Chain Manager reports to the GM Operations and is part of the Leadership Team.  The Supply Chain Manager maintains functional alignment with the Contracting & Procurement (C&P) function and ensures compliance with any applicable C&P policies with regards to operational procurement.

This role will provide an ideal opportunity to make a significant impact on the bottom line of this independent company through Supply Chain excellence. The incumbent will ensure on time delivery materials, optimised management of warehousing and excellence in management of logistics (air, marine, road) and operational procurement (i.e. team of operational buyers) for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

•    Delivering strategic oversight to the supply chain discipline.

•    Supervise and mentor a team of up to ten staff and contractors ensuring high performance and development.

•    Effective management and prioritisation of the team’s workload to ensure the requirements of the organisation are met.

•    Effective supervision and leadership of the team, to ensure compliance with management systems, deliver high quality supply chain solutions and high operational excellence across the Assets.

•    Lead safety investigations where required.

•    Keeping abreast of, and ensuring compliance with, legislation, standards, and industry guidance.

•    Strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders in matters relating to supply chain, including Viaro Senior Management.

•    Setting the strongest possible safety performance expectations and hold self and others accountable for same; including, managing risk in a way that meets or exceeds HES requirements but also achieves, as far as practicable, the business objectives.

Accountabilities

•    Safe operations of third-party marine, air and road transport

•    Supervise team of Materials & logistics coordinators, schedulers, warehouse managers and operational buyers

•    Support the end-to-end sourcing & contracting processes for logistics categories, which includes predicting scope; support negotiating of contracts and post-award contract management.

  • Support operational procurement ensuring timely placement and expediting of Purchase Orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and/or services in line with business requirements

  • Coordinate and interface with Contracting & Procurement department to ensure operational procurement complies with and supports the organisation’s overall Contracting & Procurement strategy.

•    Ensure supply chain commercial models are robust and optimized, taking full advantage of 40:40:20 (Demand/ Specification/ Price) levers and the key business value drivers.

•    Key supply chain and business interface with Operations to ensure local business needs are met

•    Drive & improve good supply chain commercial outcomes by working effectively with contract holders

•    Manage strategic logistical supplier relationships including the resolution of operational and supplier performance issues.

•    Support the effectively operationalizing process of the logistics contracts.

•    Drive a continuous improvement mindset within the broader team and with the stakeholder community, as well as with suppliers and maintain strong relationships.
