The successful candidate will apply reliability engineering principles and data-driven methodologies to identify failure modes, recommend improvements, and ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations in a high-hazard onshore environment.
-
Develop and maintain reliability models (e.g., RCM, FMEA,) for critical rotating and static equipment (compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, turbines).
-
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) following any significant equipment failure or performance deviation; produce clear, actionable reports with lessons learned.
-
Lead failure mode, effects & criticality analyses (FMECA) to prioritise maintenance activities and drive design improvements.
-
Implement and oversee condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography) to detect early signs of degradation.
-
Define KPI dashboards (MTBF, MTTR, availability) and use CMMS/EAM systems to capture, analyse, and report reliability data.
-
Collaborate with digital engineering teams to integrate IoT sensor data and advanced analytics into predictive maintenance models.
-
Develop and optimise preventative and predictive maintenance plans in line with industry best practices and HSE standards.
-
Provide engineering support to operations and maintenance teams during shutdowns, turnarounds, and major inspections
-
Review and challenge maintenance tactics, spare-parts strategy, and vendor recommendations to ensure cost-effective reliability outcomes.
-
Act as subject-matter expert for reliability within multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring new equipment and modifications are designed for maintainability.
-
Interface with Operations, Integrity, HSE, Procurement, and Technical Authority to align reliability initiatives with overall asset management strategies.
-
Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions on reliability tools and techniques to build capability across the plant workforce.
-
Lead continuous improvement projects (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) focused on reducing unplanned downtime and maintenance costs.
