Job Description

The Membership & Growth Manager plays a pivotal role in strengthening EEEGR’s position at the heart of the regional energy sector. Responsible for cultivating a highly engaged membership community, the postholder will drive retention, support sustainable growth and enhance the overall member experience.

Acting as both a relationship leader and sector ambassador, this role requires a commercially aware professional who can confidently engage organisations of all sizes, identify opportunities for collaboration and contribute to the long-term success of the network.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership in Member Engagement

  • Act as the senior point of contact for member organisations, developing trusted and enduring relationships.
  • Design and deliver engagement approaches that increase member satisfaction, advocacy and long-term retention.
  • Develop a deep understanding of member priorities to proactively connect organisations and unlock shared opportunities.
  • Champion a member-first culture across the organisation.

Strategic Membership Growth

  • Lead proactive membership recruitment aligned to EEEGR’s strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective members through networking, referrals and sector engagement.
  • Use insight and data to anticipate renewal risk and support high retention rates.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance commercial value through sponsorship, partnerships and collaborative initiatives.

External Representation

  • Serve as a visible and credible ambassador for EEEGR at industry events, stakeholder meetings and regional forums.
  • Strengthen the organisation’s profile by building influential relationships across the energy supply chain.
  • Maintain awareness of sector developments to ensure EEEGR remains responsive and relevant.

Member Value & Events

  • Collaborate on the development of an engaging events programme shaped by member needs and industry trends.
  • Help create forums that prioritise meaningful connection, knowledge-sharing and business opportunity.

Marketing & Communications

  • Partner with colleagues to deliver targeted, high-quality member communications across multiple channels.
  • Promote member successes and encourage active participation within the network.

Operational Effectiveness

  • Leverage CRM systems to track engagement, manage the membership lifecycle and produce actionable insights.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of membership processes and propositions.
  • Work collaboratively across the team to support organisational priorities.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven success in relationship management, account management, business development or a similar outward-facing role.
  • Strong networking capability with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to spot growth opportunities.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within the energy sector, a membership organisation, or a B2B environment.
  • Experience representing an organisation externally at events or industry forums.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and data-led decision making.
