Job Description

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our
Engineering team based in Great Yarmouth.
This is a key role supporting engineering and operational projects by ensuring that documentation
is accurately controlled, distributed and maintained throughout its lifecycle. Working closely with
Engineers, Project Managers and other stakeholders, you will help ensure that critical project
information is managed efficiently, securely and in accordance with company procedures.
This position is ideal for someone with previous document control experience who enjoys working
in a fast-paced engineering environment where accuracy and organisation are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
Document Control & Information Management
▪ Supporting the implementation and administration of the company’s Electronic Document
Management System (Oracle Aconex).
▪ Managing and controlling engineering, operational and project documentation throughout
its lifecycle.
▪ Ensuring documents are correctly registered, transmitted, reviewed and approved.
▪ Maintaining accurate electronic and hard copy filing systems.
▪ Allocating document and drawing numbers in accordance with company procedures.
▪ Producing daily document control reports and status updates.
▪ Compiling, archiving and maintaining project dossiers in both electronic and hard copy
formats.
▪ Carrying out quality checks to ensure documentation complies with company standards.
Engineering & Project Support
▪ Providing document control support to engineering and project teams.
▪ Coaching and supporting engineers and managers in document management processes.
▪ Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure documentation is issued and received
within project deadlines.
▪ Supporting effective information management across engineering and operational projects.
Quality & Compliance
▪ Working in accordance with ODE document control procedures and business management
systems.
▪ Supporting compliance with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management
Systems.
▪ Building strong working relationships across all departments while promoting continuous
improvement in document management processes.
Skills, Experience and qualities we are looking for:
▪ Previous experience in a Document Controller or similar information management role.
▪ Experience using Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS). (Knowledge of
Aconex is preferable)
▪ Knowledge of Management systems; ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 advantageous.
▪ Demonstrable appreciation of Engineering, Integrity, Maintenance and Operations princi
pals and documents in direct correlation to the Oil and Gas industry.
▪ Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
▪ Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
▪ Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to strict
deadlines.
▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
▪ Logical problem-solving ability.
▪ Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
