Job Description
About the Developing Integrity Engineer Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Developing Integrity Engineer to join our
Maintenance & Integrity team based in Great Yarmouth.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in integrity engineering. As
part of ODE’s Developing Engineer Scheme, you will receive structured support, mentoring and
practical experience while working towards recognised professional qualifications.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will support the safe operation and integrity
management of both onshore and offshore oil & gas and renewable energy assets, including topside
and subsea facilities. You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of engineering disciplines, asset
integrity principles and industry-leading maintenance and inspection techniques.
Key responsibilities include:
Asset Integrity Support
▪ Supporting mechanical integrity assurance activities across a range of offshore and onshore
assets.
▪ Assisting with the maintenance of asset integrity databases for topside and subsea facilities.
▪ Supporting the development, execution and close-out of annual maintenance and inspection
programmes.
▪ Analysing maintenance and integrity data to support engineering recommendations and
reports.
▪ Assisting with the planning and cost estimation of inspection and condition monitoring
activities.
▪ Supporting the evaluation of new integrity management technologies and inspection
techniques.
Engineering Development
▪ Developing an understanding of engineering standards, statutory regulations and industry
codes of practice.
▪ Working in accordance with ODE engineering procedures and recognised industry best
practice.
▪ Producing clear and accurate technical reports using Microsoft Office applications.
▪ Working alongside experienced engineers on a variety of integrity and operational projects.
▪ Occasionally visiting offshore assets and other ODE offices to support operational activities
and broaden practical experience.
Skills, Experience and qualities we are looking for:
Essential
▪ Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering or Science.
▪ Strong interest in developing a career within asset integrity or mechanical engineering.
▪ Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
▪ Excellent attention to detail.
▪ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
▪ Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
▪ Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
▪ Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning.
▪ Willingness to travel occasionally to offshore assets and other UK locations.
Desirable
▪ Knowledge of the oil & gas, offshore or renewable energy industries.
▪ Understanding of maintenance, inspection or integrity management principles.
▪ Experience analysing engineering or maintenance data.
▪ Experience producing technical reports.
▪ Awareness of engineering standards and industry regulations.
