Main Purpose of the Role: To maintain, strip down, inspect and repair all types of Centurion and Client owned equipment (including electrical equipment) within fleet in accordance with company approved HSSEQ Policies, procedures and standards, within Job Holder’s competency and training levels.
The primary duties of the Service Engineer include performing service and maintenance tasks on diesel powerpack units, compressors and welding units, identify faults, repair and replace components.
Main Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains, strips down, inspects and repairs equipment as allocated by supervisor and as per company approved HSSEQ Policies, Procedures and standards, reporting any problems or issues to Supervisor; keeps accurate and up to date records of work done and specific equipment records as required by legislation.
- Complete PAT and HAVS testing on company or client owned equipment.
- Complete pressure testing operations on equipment, hoses & pipework, company or client owned.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Trade qualification from recognised and approved Training College/Provider, e.g. City & Guilds/SVQ L3/BTech Mechanical/Maintenance Engineering.
- Current driving licence.
- Forklift /Overhead Crane/Banksman Slinger training and certificates preferred.
- Previous experience with Plant and Equipment systems and procedures including Zone 2 and ATEX experience.
- Able to work on own initiative or with minimal supervision.
- Professional; thorough; maintains high standards; troubleshooting skills; adaptable and flexible.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
- Good IT and diagnostic skills.
- Physically fit.
- Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Good organisation skills.
