Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Authorised Person to join AEP Global on our Clients Data Centre in Germany.
AEP Global provides Solutions Services to numerous industries: Nuclear, Data Centre’s, Oil & Gas, Renewables.
Overall Role Objective
Represent AEP Global and our client as Senior Authorised Person (SAP) as SAP you must be a professional who will be responsible for the safety of yourself and others in HV areas; the Senior Authorised Person must take steps to ensure HV equipment is safely isolated and safe to work on and is ultimately responsible as a senior figure for overseeing the work of Authorised Persons and the SSOW onsite.
Responsibilities
- Organise and execute HV switching, isolation, earthing, and issue of safety documentation for customer HV networks up to 33kV
- Ensure, so far as is reasonable and practicable, that all personnel observe and comply with relevant Safe Systems of Work
- Evaluate, review, appoint and maintain a register of skilled/competent persons (including records of training and areas of responsibilities)
- Ability to carry out Investigations with respect to near misses, incidents and accidents
- Supervise and coordinate on-site teams and sub-contractors, ensuring they complete tasks on time and safely to required standards
- Allocate work and ensure completion in accordance with the project schedule and Cx Plan
- Adhere to all Statutory Standards and Regulations
- Assist teams with resolving matters arising
- Maintain effective health and safety systems, including completion of risk assessments, method statements, tool box talks, etc.
- Complete project documentation and reports accurately and concisely
- Identify corrective actions and implementation of countermeasures to maximise productivity
- Liaise with client managers daily and have a voice in project meetings
Required:
- Authorised as SAP able to work on 33kV
- Experience of delivering efficient and effective services to customers whether on site or at a planning stage from an office environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Distribution Safety rules and their application.
- Excellent H&S Knowledge and Standards
- Safe Pass – CCNSG/CSCS or equivalent
- The ability to demonstrate a pragmatic and ‘common sense’ approach to problem solving
- The ability to prioritise works, accommodate conflicting requests, whilst ensuring the day to day functionality of the project
- Ability to identify faults in project accurately and quickly when under pressure
- Excellent leadership skills with proven experience of managing a team
- Experience of working within “time critical” production environments
- Highly organised with the ability to manage time effectively
- EU Passport Holder / EU Resident Visa / EU Work Permit
- Confident at running meetings and leading teams
- Previous experience as a Senior Authorised Person.

- 5 years experience as a SAP
- Technically qualified with a HNC or equivalent apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering
