During periods of uncertainty, managers are expected to keep their teams engaged, adaptable and able to speak openly – even when they may not have all the answers themselves.
For HR, the challenge is how to support managers to create the conditions for psychological safety when certainty is difficult to offer. What do managers need from HR? What behaviours should we be encouraging? And how can we help them recognise when trust and openness within their teams may be starting to slip?
Leading this HR Forum is Neelu Agarwal, a Global Strategy, People, Culture and Inclusion leader with 16 years of executive experience across some of the UK’s most complex regulated environments.
Neelu has held senior roles including EMEA Executive Director for Talent & Inclusion at Wells Fargo and Head of Talent & Inclusion at the Prudential Regulation Authority, Bank of England. Today, she works internationally as a motivational speaker, executive coach and leadership development trainer, specialising in belonging, psychological safety, resilience and coaching skills.
Drawing on that experience, Neelu will explore how HR can better equip managers to lead through uncertainty, without expecting them to have all the answers or present a sense of steadiness they may not genuinely feel themselves.
