The Journey of the Box – Peterson Energy Logistics

Company Information:
Peterson delivers comprehensive logistics and supply chain management services to the energy sector. This includes strategic planning and execution of material movements, ensuring that critical equipment and parts are delivered on schedule to onshore and offshore locations.
We handle cargo operations, inventory planning and transport coordination, in addition to materials management services where we coordinate procurement, warehousing and distribution functions to optimise the flow of materials through the supply chain.
We also provide port services for vessels moving goods to and from offshore installations, including quayside cargo handling, vessel chartering, marine pooling and shipping support.
Project Overview
Peterson Energy Logistics delivers logistics and supply chain management services to the energy sector. This includes planning and executing the movement of materials, coordinating cargo operations, managing inventory, and providing port and marine services to support onshore and offshore energy projects.
Peterson operates a Control Tower in Lowestoft, supported by its internal Lighthouse software system. This system is used to manage the risks associated with complex logistics projects. As the business expands and diversifies across different energy sectors, Peterson wants to further improve how Lighthouse supports digital, data, and environmental efficiency.
This project focuses on understanding how the Control Tower operates, how risks are managed in complex projects, and how the Lighthouse system could be adapted to support future development.
Project Aim
To investigate how Peterson’s Control Tower operates and how risk is managed within complex logistics projects, with a particular focus on how the Lighthouse software could be improved to support future digital and operational development.
Why This Project Is Important
As Peterson’s business grows, improving the use of the Lighthouse system is essential to managing risk and supporting increasingly complex energy projects. This project will help Peterson understand current processes and identify how software could better support Control Tower operations in the future.
