Integrating the Energy Sector onto JutJut – JutJut

Company Information

JutJut is a free social platform helping students aged 14-18 discover life changing opportunities in one place. We collect and organise work experience, internships, competitions, summer schools, lectures and scholarships, then personalise them into a feed tailored to each student’s interests.

Behind the scenes, we build and manage the full tech stack, including a secure AI-powered backend that finds, filters and structures opportunities, stores data safely, and powers personalisation and notifications. We also promote opportunities through social media marketing and work with schools to ensure everything is safe, clear and accessible.

Project Overview

This project focuses on integrating the energy sector onto JutJut by building partnerships with energy companies, so they post internships and work experience opportunities directly on the platform, and by building relationships with schools so students are aware of these new opportunities.

Project Aim

To build real partnerships with energy companies so they post internships and work experience opportunities directly on JutJut, and to support links with schools so students see and access these opportunities—creating a smooth, organised system to support the 2027 internship season.

This project is valuable because it helps JutJut move from simply collecting opportunities to becoming a direct partner of energy companies. Instead of just sharing internships, we’ll help companies post directly to students and build real relationships with schools.

Key Research Questions

• Which energy companies offer internships, apprenticeships, or work experience opportunities?

• Who are the key contacts at these organisations, and what are their timelines for promoting opportunities?

• What value does JutJut offer to energy companies and to schools?

• What are the main barriers that stop companies posting directly, and how can these be reduced?

• How can the onboarding and posting process be made clearer and easier for companies to use?

What You Will Do

• Research energy companies that offer internships, apprenticeships, or work experience

• Identify key contacts and gather information on timelines and how opportunities are currently promoted

• Contact companies to explain the value of posting directly onto JutJut

• Follow up and guide interested companies through onboarding

• Support companies to post live internship or work experience listings directly onto the platform

• Build relationships with schools so students are aware of newly listed opportunities

• Review JutJut’s posting process and suggest improvements to make it clearer and easier for companies

Science, Engineering and Technical Understanding

• Understanding how a digital platform organises and distributes opportunities to users

• Learning how an AI-powered backend supports data collection, structuring, and personalisation

• Break the project into stages (research, outreach, onboarding, school engagement, process review)

• Keep organised records of contacts, outreach attempts, and outcomes

• Track progress towards companies being onboarded and opportunities going live

• Justify recommendations for process improvement using evidence from your experience

• Manage your time independently with regular check-ins
