Project Overview
REAGIT Ltd is an independent engineering training provider delivering apprenticeships and commercial engineering courses, including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Welding, Pipe Fitting, and Machining.
This internship focuses specifically on employer engagement and how engineering training connects to real companies and real careers. You will work closely with the Head of Employer Engagement to understand how REAGIT builds relationships with engineering and energy employers, promotes courses, supports open days, and responds to enquiries from learners and businesses.
Project Aim
To understand how engineering education links to employers and industry, and to contribute practical ideas that strengthen REAGIT’s employer engagement and communication with young engineers and energy professionals.
Key Research Questions
• How does REAGIT build and maintain relationships with engineering and energy employers?
• How are open days, course enquiries, and employer communications managed?
• What works well in REAGIT’s current employer engagement approach?
• Where could communication or processes be improved?
• How can young engineers use LinkedIn effectively to connect with employers and opportunities?
What You Will Do
• Shadow the Head of Employer Engagement during meetings, events, and day-to-day tasks
• Observe how employer relationships are developed and maintained
• Attend open days and see how they are planned and delivered
• Assist with following up course enquiries from individuals and businesses
• Carry out desk-based research where required
• Write short daily reflections (approximately one page per day)
• Contribute ideas for improving communication with employers and young people
• Help develop a presentation summarising findings
• Create a short, practical LinkedIn guide for young engineers and energy professionals
