EEEGR Chair lends his voice to Skills report

As the new term begins, EEEGR’s Charity of the Year Norfolk Community Foundation is excited to share the latest edition of their Spark report – this time focused on Skills for Norfolk’s Future.

At a time when the East’s employment landscape is undergoing exciting change, especially in the energy sector, the report focuses on a vital question: how can every community benefit from new opportunities? It shows that through radical collaborations and out-of-the-box thinking, we can help communities and individuals turn their ideas into reality, building the skills, confidence and support they need to succeed.

Among other employment sector leaders, East of England Energy Group Chair Kevin Keable lent his voice to the report, commenting that: “We need people who are resilient, who can communicate, who can solve problems and work in a team. These are things that develop over time, often through real-world experience and support from community groups. And whilst STEM should actively be encouraged, there are many jobs which do not require STEM subjects, but are equally important to ensure that these huge projects are completed and we must let people know about these jobs too.”

We invite you to explore the publication online and discover how EEEGR’s charity of the year is convening partnerships for good across our county. If what you read sparks ideas, questions or a desire to get involved, they would love to hear from you. Please contact sophieberry@norfolkfoundation.com.
