A very interesting breakfast today. The event, held at Great Yarmouth Town Hall, opened with an insightful update from Cllr Daniel Candon from Great Yarmouth Borough Council on the council’s role in encouraging investment in the region, highlighting ongoing efforts to attract new businesses, support economic growth, and enhance infrastructure to strengthen the local economy.
Moving to the main topic of the morning – relevant to most companies working within the energy sector – safety when travelling and working abroad, Matthew Warder of Inverroy Crisis Management referenced The World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report and highlighted the ever-changing risk landscape, discussing challenges such as climate change, supply chain vulnerabilities, inflation, and cyber threats.
Ian Smith from Reuzer followed with an informative talk, focusing on the importance of vigilance and resilience when travelling for business. He introduced their collaborative initiative with Inverroy, aimed at improving safety measures for industry professionals working abroad.
The event reinforced that as global risks continue to evolve, proactive planning and strong partnerships are essential in ensuring worker safety and business continuity.
EEEGR members and breakfast attendees qualify for a discounted rate for the e-learning course. It is available in three packages, according to the risk level of the countries visited, with ten modules for the highest risk-rated countries.
