Thanks to generous sponsorship from the Dudgeon Community Fund, operated by Equinor, and distributed by the Norfolk Community Foundation, EEEGR and Skills for Energy were able to offer more than 70 chemistry, physics and engineering students an insight into hydrogen and the part it plays in our energy mix.
Through EEEGR (East of England Energy Group)’s Skills for Energy, we were joined by industry experts Karl Farrow and Holly Harvey-Perdicou from Geothermal Development Company – CeraPhi Energy, Ellie Haddon from Equinor and Andy Holyland from Hydrogen East, who gave some brilliant presentations on hydrogen production, current projects and the advantages and challenges of using hydrogen.
Suzanne Allen, our Skills for Energy manager, facilitated the day.
She said: “A really big thanks to East Norfolk Sixth Form College, the Dudgeon Community Fund and our fantastic industry experts, who gave the students an opportunity to gain incredible insight into their work.
“Events like these are just so important for our local students as they can hear and see first hand about the opportunities available to them in this area and the difference they can make as they consider their future careers.”
